H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Member of the Supreme Council and RAK Ruler, emphasized that improving academic education is important to achieve the emirate 2030 vision that resulting in ongoing comprehensive development, better future for tomorrow’s generations, and the achievement of UAE’s targets and strategic plans of prosperity. This was when H.H. received, at his palace in Saqr bin Mohammed City. The reception was attended by HE Salem Al Sharhan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Yasser Al Nuaimi, the member of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Ismail Matalka the President of the University. His Highness said, “RAK is committed to provide an academic environment according to the best international standards that improve the national competencies and contribute to helping the generations to keep pace with the requirements of the technological progress and future transitions and continue the emirate’s successful journey.” Sheikh Saud learned about the academic initiatives, scientific research, and the university’s efforts to integrate technology and innovation and enter into national and international partnerships that contributed to the make the university among the prestigious academic institutions that provide significant medical educations. Therefore, highly qualified doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists can access work market, thus contributing to promote the status of the University nationally and regionally. During the meeting, H.H. reviewed the university’s programs, achievements, expanding of educational and research programs. Moreover, His Highness was briefed about the new medical workforce qualifying center the university has established to support medical care in UAE and whole region, as well as its future plans. The reception also included exchanging discussion between H.H. and the members about several matters related to academic development in medical field that align with the emirate’s development and progress. The members, in return, expressed their gratefulness and appreciation to HH the Ruler for the significant support and unlimited care for developing the university and the Higher Education on the basis of His Highness’s belief in the role education plays in the nations’ renaissance and progress.
